WHY BUILD ANYWHERE YET ALONE ON THE NORTHERN FRINGE?

Read my poster-pledge, the clues to the relevance are contained
within the text statement especially the heading!

Water shortage-flooding and farming problems due to drought
(with significantly reduced new build since 2008, which was a peak)- so water companies have had the pressure taken off "to perform" and accommodate new development, ie they have had time to prepare and get their house in order.

(Anglian Water are consumed with fighting the water crisis so Daimler Road Ipswich's problems have, it appears, been put on the back burner for now and the meeting plan for June with MP cancelled.
-So they look forward to flooding and sewage in their homes again if this rainy period continues.(This problem was down to developers on adjacent new development not doing a good enough job and the Borough not checking, monitoring enforcing_Development Control problems yet again!)

Water shortage adversely impacting on our capacity to grow food efficiently locally. Dry conditions and dry ground increases the likelihood of flooding as ground can't absorb well.( Hayhill Road development will suffer again as will Cemetery Road residents)
So, for St Margaret's, what is the use of planning for thousands of new homes on NF, (well known for the water supply and drainage inadequacy) and the need for new homes, that appear for now not to be needed; with construction and house starts at an all time low and still reducing(today's figures Radio 4)- meaning there may be difficulty with delivery if they start( like Hayhill Road)
All planned by IBC on the highest grade productive farmland in the Ipswich Policy Area; land that will help sustain us over the next difficult years?

The Borough proposes to DELAY a review of the Core Strategy 2013-2014(and the evidence base) until AFTER it has committed the NF todevelopment- and a point of no return!
Never mind, the developers will be happy(provided with certaincy), local politicians will be happy, it's what they have manoeuvred for for 25 years, the1000-1200 of the public who have responded and objected won't.
So who are these local politicians there to serve? Not St Margaret’s that is obvious.

About Me

My photo
I am 69 and have to use a wheelchair but I never allow this issue to interfere with anything I want to achieve. I would like young people and even those not yet born to be able to enjoy growing up in Ipswich as much as my generation did. We never stayed around the town or housing areas as we spent our time in the countryside doing what kids do and annoying nobody. We all learned to live off the land and to appreciate the countryside too. No drugs or alcohol needed to have a really good time and grow into mature adults. My wife and I spend our time as volunteers and we have spent many a happy day taking disabled people sailing on the River Orwell. We hope to expand this year with more boats.
